The olive tree is an elegant, slow-growing, long-lived plant which is ideal for a sunny or sheltered spot. The olive tree retains its silver-grey leaves all year and, in the summer, it produces tiny, fragrant, creamy-white flowers. The olive fruits ripen in the autumn.  To care for your olive tree apply a top dressing of nitrogen-rich general fertilizer 2-3 times per year, during the growing season. Shoots can be trimmed or pinched out in the summer as required to retain shape.  This plant is hardy to -5 degrees and some care may be required during extended cold spells.
