The Cyas Revoluta (also known as the Sago Palm) is a long-lived exotic palm that tolerates neglect but thrives with attention. It adapts to indirect light or full sun and has a wide temperature range from 15 to 120 degrees. It is one of the worlds slowest growing plants, taking around 50 years to reach 1.5m. A slow growth rate allows indoor specimens to remain in the same container indefinitely. Treat as a cactus, water when almost dry and seldom fertilize with nitrogen. Keep out of direct light if in a conservatory as the sun can scorch the leaves. Occasionally wipe over the leaves with a damp cloth to keep the leaves free from dust and periodically inspect for scale insects. If the leaves begin to turn yellow this is a sign of over watering. The leaf must be removed and allowed to regrow.
